In her blog, Marina Galperina draws attention to new
initiative and functional artwork titled 'the hundred story house'.
The project undertaken by Brooklyn artist Leon Reid IV and film producer
Julia Marchesi, speaks to the changing nature of 'book lending' in today's
modern world. The interactive artwork featured in the
piece, highlights the parallel between community and library as
the principal draw of this project. The aesthetic appeal of
the 'house' coupled with the take-a-book, leave-a-book lending
functions, uses art and the published word to start a conversation and
promote learning in its surrounds. Ms Galperina effectively utilises
this interactive artwork as an example of the benefits published works can
bring to a community and suggests that the increasingly popular digital
alternative is detrimental to social inclusion agenda.
You refer us to an interesting butsomewhat perplexing blog, Anna. I could only, easily, see the one post on the minature library house. Thank you for this. Remeber that now you need to do the evaluation and the citation in the correct style.
